Tennis for Kids Legacy

Tennis for Kids - Davis Cup Legacy

In 2016, we were absolutely delighted when our Head Coach, DBS, was selected to run Tennis for Kids as part of the Davis Cup Legacy in 2016.    We ran this course again in 2017!

This is a little bit about the course and history:

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has launched its biggest ever grass roots initiative to take Britain’s first Davis Cup win in 79 years and use it to inspire the next generation of tennis players.

Tennis for Kids, in partnership with Highland Spring, has been created to establish a genuine tennis participation legacy, following Great Britain’s historic Davis Cup triumph in Ghent last year.

The initiative aims to inspire 10,000 children aged 5-8 to pick up a racket and play tennis for the first time. It will also establish greater accessibility into tennis, with a view to creating a new generation of tennis loving children. Furthermore, the courses will focus on fun, flexibility and getting active, with parents encouraged to join for the final session.

Participants will be offered a six-week course led by 1,000 coaches, who have been trained by the likes of Greg Rusedski, Annabel Croft, Anne Keovathong and Leon Smith, while 10,000 free rackets will be given away to children across the whole of Great Britain who complete the course, which starts from April and runs until July.

Tennis For Kids is a 6 week £25 coaching course packed full of fun games and activities. Courses are run by an LTA qualified coach and are perfect for kids that are new to tennis.

What you can expect?
•A £25 6 week course with a qualified coach
•A free racket to keep forever if you attend regularly
•An opportunity for parents to get involved
•An opportunity to keep playing at the venue after the course
